Wine Uses

Do you have wine that you didn't finish the other night and just doesn't taste the same? Brian, our local wine conossieur gave me a great idea yesterday for leftover wine (or wine that has gotten "cooked"): he says that putting half beef broth and half wine in as a base for beef stew gives it excellent flavor. I know I don't want my wine to go to waste, so I think I'll make a yummy stew to warm me up as the weather turns colder. I'll sit in front of the fire with my stew (and maybe a glass wine... Brian, what's the best pairing for that one?) and know I made good use of my wine for something the whole family could enjoy (don't worry kids, the alcohol cooks out!) Enjoy! Ciao, Rebecca
