My name is Kristy Mannin, and I am excited to be a part of Love Washington Wine as the new Director of Marketing and Sales! We are currently working with some of the most amazing wineries in the state, and perhaps the world and I am proud to market and sell their product, because once tasted, it almost sells itself. Almost. And that’s where I come in...
Recently, the awards received have kept our inboxes full and our wineries busy. Take a look at what we are doing, to name a few:
· The May 15th 2007 Wine Spectator gave Horan Estates the following scores: 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon scored 91 points, 2004 Syrah scored 90 points, and the 2004 HVH scored 88 points.
· Also in the May 15th 2007 Wine Spectator: C.R. Sandidge Wines’ 2002 Boushey Syrah scored 86 Points, and their 2002 Klingele Syrah scored 89 Points.
· The 2007 Washington Wine Awards published in the April 2007 Seattle Magazine has named Boudreaux Cellars the Best New Winery of the year and Rob Newsom as the Best New Winemaker of the year.
· Ryan Patrick Vineyards, Stemilt Creek Winery and Chateau Faire Le Pont received recognition at Washington CEO Magazine’s 2007 Best of Washington Wines Event featured in their March 2007 issue. Ryan Patrick Vineyards 2005 Estate Chardonnay received an outstanding rating of 91 points and was ranked as the #1 best Washington Chardonnay at the event, and Stemilt Creek Winery’s 2003 Cabernet Franc was ranked #3 with an excellent rating of 87 points! Chateau Faire Le Pont received excellent-rated 86-89 points in the Syrah category, for their 2003 Syrah.
· Saint Laurent Winery is Wine Press Northwest’s 2007 Washington winery to watch for the second year in a row! Wow!
These wines certainly are impressive! The Horan Estates Cabernet Sauvignon is one of my newest favorites. And in my opinion, Washington Cab truly tastes, pairs and frankly is better than anything coming from California . Our climate in Washington is doing some mind-blowing things to these grapes. While many know Washington’s stereotype, that it rains across the whole state all the time right? Well, you’d be surprised to know that on the other side of the mountains from Seattle, it’s the complete opposite. We have four seasons, and tons of sunshine, and this contributes to far better wine than you could possibly imagine. Try some and you’ll see!
So, lets give it up for these wineries! They are doing amazing things in the world of wine. Look out California, here we come!
Cheers! - Kristy
